Last week, Canon Expo was held in Paris, an event that takes place every five years in a European capital. The aim of this exhibition is to present new products for the general public and professionals. It is also an opportunity to discover technologies still in the study phase, thanks to prototypes. <\/p>\n

So I was able to discover and test new concepts and technologies that really blew me away.<\/p>\n

For example, an ultra-large, high-sensitivity image sensor that captures facial expressions and movements that are barely visible to the naked eye, even in very low light conditions. But also an omnidirectional camera that captures a 360\u00b0 image thanks to an omnidirectional mirror. Thanks to image processing software, a 360\u00b0 panorama can be obtained in a single shot! <\/p>\n

We were also introduced to a rather ingenious new camera concept: instead of taking a photo, it shoots an HD video sequence, from which we simply extract the best shots!<\/p>\n

Of course, I was able to try out the long-awaited fisheye lens<\/a> on the EOS 60D, which gives a 180\u00b0 angle of view! Impressive, both in terms of photography and video<\/a>. <\/p>\n

In terms of sound, we were able to listen to a concerto using Cabasse’s brand-new Oceans loudspeakers (which Canon owns). Suffice it to say that the four digital amplifiers, <\/span><\/span>ranging from 250 Watts for high frequencies to 1,000 Watts for low frequencies, make me wish I’d tested them when I’m sitting in front of my TV with my home cinema… <\/p>\n

But even more impressive is interactive augmented reality, which brings the real and virtual worlds together. You can see images, create them and even control them! <\/p>\n
