For the 8th year running, the biggest names in fashion and jewelry, a dozen contemporary artists and a number of celebrities have put their talents to work for children, creating unique dolls that are true collector’s items, sometimes surprising, mimicking, mischievous or simply refined.<\/p>\n

The Frimousses de Cr\u00e9ateurs<\/em> are on show to the general public free of charge until December 05, 2010 at the Petit Palais, the Paris Fine Arts Museum, with staging byOlivier Massart<\/strong>. They will then be auctioned on December 07, 2010 at Drouot Montaigne, under the authority of Ma\u00eetre Georges Delettrez and Ma\u00eetre Pierre Cornette de Saint Cyr<\/strong>. <\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>\"\"<\/a>All the funds raised byUNICEF<\/strong> will be used to help the children of Darfur, providing concrete assistance to a population affected by an unprecedented humanitarian crisis through a vaccination program for women and children under one year of age.<\/p>\n

\"\"\"\"<\/a>Once again, the world’s leading Couture Houses have joined forces to help children in need around the globe. Chanel, Christian Dior, Jean-Paul Gaultier, Elie Saab, Gucci, Emilio Pucci, Lanvin, Louis Vuitton and Missoni, among others, answered the call and presented us with dolls emblematic of their House’s style. <\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>\"\"<\/a>Over the past four years, Frimousses de Cr\u00e9ateurs has broadened its horizons by inviting contemporary artists to create their own dolls. Artists such as Jeff Koons, Damien Hirst, Jean-Charles de Castelbajac and Sign7 have come up with dolls for 2010 that are, to say the least, surprising and even unexpected. <\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>\"\"<\/a>Having joined the operation three years ago, jewelers such as Mauboussin, Val\u00e9rie Messika and Poiray delighted our eyes.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>\"\"<\/a>For several years now, the Frimousses have been focusing on a particular theme, and this year’s 2010 edition, “Les Frimousses font leur cin\u00e9ma” (Frimousses make their movies), features four very VIP dolls. Dior Homme and Guillaume Canet <\/strong>have created a doll of the famous director-actor, dressed in a life-like tuxedo. The Yamina Benguigui <\/strong>doll is dressed by couturier Georges Chakra. Marion Cottilard<\/strong>, always committed to the cause, made her own pretty figurine. The fourth doll is a majestic Isabelle Adjani<\/strong> dressed by Val\u00e9rian. <\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>\"\"<\/a>Laeticia Hallyday<\/strong> has been patron of the event since 2005. ” In the field, I’m struck by the hope, smiles and dignity of the children and mothers. Vaccinating a child is essential; it’s the child’s first step. <\/em> to save his life and give him a future…<\/em>“, she confides.<\/p>\n

The 2009 event raised 285,300 euros, all of which went to the vaccination program in Darfur. Let’s hope that 2010 will do just as well, if not better. <\/p>\n
