C\u00f4te d’Or-based Cave Coop\u00e9rative Nuiton-Beaunoy has just released the 2020 vintage of its “En Pain Perdu” cuv\u00e9e. From the Hautes C\u00f4tes de Beaune terroir, this red Burgundy expresses the potential of this confidential vineyard with panache. <\/p>\n

Nuiton-Beaunoy, a C\u00f4te d’Or-based cooperative<\/p>\n

Created in 1957 under the name Cave du Ros\u00e9 d’Orches, the Nuiton-Beaunoy cooperative has been based in Beaune since 1968. Today, it brings together 80 winegrowing families cultivating 350 hectares in the C\u00f4te d’Or region. <\/p>\n

Thanks to this network of plots, Nuiton-Beaunoy produces Burgundy wines in a variety of appellations, from regional to grand cru. The cellar strives to bring out the expression of each climate, from Gevrey-Chambertin to the Hautes C\u00f4tes. <\/p>\n

The high-altitude terroir of Hautes C\u00f4tes de Beaune<\/p>\n

The “En Pain Perdu” cuv\u00e9e comes from a parcel nestled in the commune of Baubigny, in the Hautes C\u00f4tes de Beaune. Situated at an altitude of 390 metres, this gently sloping vineyard enjoys an ideal south-east exposure. <\/p>\n

The clay-limestone soils, draining and stony, give concentration and freshness to the grapes. The harsh Hautes C\u00f4tes climate ensures optimum ripeness and aromatic expression. <\/p>\n

A nose of red berries and spices<\/p>\n

The 2020 vintage has a deep, intense color. From the very first nose, aromas of raspberry and redcurrant combine with discreet vanilla notes. <\/p>\n

On the palate, a lively attack gives way to a supple, delicate body carried by silky tannins. The wine opens on a long finish, with a hint of spice adding to its complexity. <\/p>\n

With this racy Bourgogne, Nuiton-Beaunoy reveals the potential of the Hautes C\u00f4tes de Beaune. A fine discovery to enjoy now or cellar for 2-3 years. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
