Renowned shoe designer Manolo Blahnik is strengthening its presence in Paris with the opening of a new corner at Le Bon Marché Rive Gauche on September 3, 2024. This new installation marks the second opening in the capital, following that of the boutique in the Galerie Montpensier in 2019. The new shop-in-shop, located on the 2nd floor of the luxury footwear department, embodies Blahnik's signature blend of timeless elegance and contemporary design.
A Collection Inspired by the Ballets Russes
The corner showcases the latest Autumn/Winter 2024 collections, inspired by dance, in particular the Ballets Russes, a key influence for Manolo Blahnik ever since he discovered them in a book in his mother's library. This connection translates into classic silhouettes, such as lightweight straps and square-toed shoes, reinvented in luxurious materials like croc-effect calfskin and a palette of bright and neutral colors.
An Evocative Space
The design of the corner at Le Bon Marché evokes an elegant salon, echoing the various Manolo Blahnik boutiques around the world. Dominated by touches of yellow, the space is both minimalist and modern, offering a high-end shopping experience in a sophisticated setting.
Reinvented know-how
The Winter 2024 collection showcases Manolo Blahnik's boundless creativity and craftsmanship. Intricate techniques and carefully chosen materials give rise to iconic designs like the multicolored patchwork on the Estho and Esmaa models, and vibrant, graphic creations on the Oyounak and Tamer models. These pieces testify to the continuing inspiration Manolo draws from the work of innovative artists.
An unbreakable link with Paris
Paris holds a special place in the heart of Manolo Blahnik, who lived in the French capital during his art studies in the 1960s. He continues to draw inspiration from the city's architecture and timeless elegance. For Blahnik, Paris is a continuous source of ideas and a fashion epicenter.
Manolo Blahnik, a Luxury Legend
With a career spanning over 50 years, Manolo Blahnik has established himself as one of the most influential shoe designers of his generation. His collections continue to captivate an international audience, thanks to a unique blend of craftsmanship and creativity. In 2023, the house launched "The Craft", a virtual exhibition that takes the public behind the scenes of the workshop in Italy, where craftsmen work meticulously to create the iconic collections.
A new chapter for Bon Marché
Le Bon Marché, history's first department store, has embodied Parisian elegance and innovation in luxury retailing since 1852. Manolo Blahnik 's arrival in this temple of shopping is part of a long tradition of collaborations between the greatest fashion designers and this legendary Left Bank establishment.
