A feel for warmth and coziness — yet light, bright, luminous. Heartwarming sun peeking through silver clouds and snowy skies. The AURALEE FW22/23 collection conveys a sentiment of comfort, while keeping its minimalistic, sophisticated approach. There is an ambiguously timeless allure, nodding to the 80s and ‘90s, their luxurious and polished feel slightly perturbed by gentle, deliberate imperfections. To this end, hair is beautifully arranged in an elegant messed-up grooming, while makeup is kept natural and delicate. Looks appear deceptively tonal, but the nuanced layering of different textures and fabrics chromatically adjacent within the same piece adds depth, emphasizing textural variations. As always in the label’s collections, the starting point is the creation of high-quality, unpareil fabrications utilizing the best raw materials sourced from around the world. This season, a beautiful new tweed was created in-house, developed for the first time with modernized ancient machines and artisanal techniques, honoring tradition while achieving up-to-date results. Robust and warm in its textured look, it actually feels featherlight and has a unique soft touch. Highlighting AURALEE’s focus on high-standard fabrications throughout, which give the collections an honest feel of authenticity, other original developed classic-inspired fabric textures and blends were also presented for the first time : a variety of tweeds: a wool silk alpaca herringbone, and a wool cashmere organic cotton, together with textured hairy knitwear of mohair and alpaca, a luxurious uniquely textured baby camel melton, glossy like draped hand sewn wool of the finest quality, and a technical brightly colored ripstop nylon. Both for Men’s and Women’s, tailoring is nuanced, and effortlessly elegant. Lines have clarity and definition yet convey ease and comfort. Classic wardrobe staples are gently updated; proportions are subtly tweaked. Outerwear is voluminous and weightless, keeping a consistent, protective feel. Hooded coats for women are as chic as they’re functional, elevated with elegant details; A-line elongated dresses and two-tuck tapered pants are a nice complement for a versatile, contemporary everyday wardrobe. For men, a feel for the outdoors is apparent in over-pants inspired silhouettes contrasted with an elegant wool construction. The Footwear range is expanded, presenting a new minimal version of Western boots and technical slip-ons in soft, comfy suede. Pops of colors light up a charming palette of creamy neutrals and delicate pale tones —a bright shade of cobalt blue and vivid greens energize the collection with a jolt of dynamic optimism. AURALEE’s FW 22/23 collection exudes an attitude of ease as well as of purpose; it looks at the bright side, striding confidently into a future grounded in beauty and hope.
