Bally Autumn/Winter 2020 Collection

Purity of Form

Featuring the new season collection, entitled Purity of Form; clean lines, organic materials and neutral tones reflect Bally’s long-standing respect for the environment and passion for design innovation, fusing Swiss heritage with a modern outlook. Soft shapes and sculptural silhouettes express the integrity and multitude of form. Constructed from the shoe up, looks are built to endure, merging natural colorways with heritage craftsmanship, textured materials and fluid lines. One by one, classic, sartorial configurations reveal themselves, elegant, elemental and most of all free. Gestural, abstract prints, inspired by turn-of-the-century modernist art from Europe, marry archival Swiss textile patterns by Abraham Ltd., in a mélange that is effortlessly unexpected. Artful accessories and handbags own graphic dimensions and honor newfound signature house hardware.

Bally Woman

Sartorial casual and empowered, she is radiant and spirited. Her style is understated; luxurious layering that’s elegant and easy.

SHOES

Evergreen style staples include the bi-color full leather Dayan knee-high boot and Deva pump with chiseled-toed and ankle strap. Introducing Bally’s B-Chain hardware on the block-heeled Dahlia; a gold metal chain signifier. Hammered-metal plaques decorate the Claudie flat (also available with 45mm heel). The winter boots range holds prominence with the Curling, featuring innovative and exclusively designed Vibram soles with shearling uppers.

BAGS

Introducing Bally’s new signature 1851 hardware across the versatile Vestige collection of quilted leather totes, chain handle shoulder bags and subtle mini bags.

READY-TO-WEAR

Soft knit cashmere cardigans and roll necks meet the sharp tailored silhouettes of heritage-printed silk shirts and split-seam pants. Outerwear projects a confident approach to dressing through cinch-waisted leather coats and elegant shearling styles, punctuated by hammered-metal buttons. Always the architect of leather, a graphic chevron patchwork coat with hand-cut black-and-white segments is a highlight, as are the collection’s oversized leather shirts and high-waisted leather skirts.

Bally Man

With a sense of purpose, he seeks to explore. His contemporary style is equally at home in the city or in nature.

SHOES A heritage of footwear craftsmanship is celebrated with artisanal leather loafers including the Kensington and Nottingham, featuring new 1851 signature house hardware. The Austin Chelsea boot comes in variants of calf leather and suede while cross-gender, technical Curling boots feature Vibram advanced technology sole, exclusive to Bally.

BAGS

The Atlas collection of sporty backpacks and cross-body bags feature a linear stitch stripe and bi-color details, while Raise, the sporty nylon theme, is characterized by bold buckle details and a water-resistant finish. The new Vestige collection with sleek lines features the 1851 hardware in a range of functionalities.

READY-TO-WEAR

Warm, earthy tones and layered separates feature alongside signature leather jackets, whether cropped or mid-length in shearling and suede details. Sleek printed silk twill shirts and wool knits are paired with light-wash denim or five-pocket leather trousers. Details

TEXTURES & MATERIALS

Leatherwork reprises its role, whether layered, light plonge, thin shearling or smooth suedes. Warm, woven knits present as luxurious cashmere-cotton flannels, fluid wools with vintage treatments, and technical jacquard. Accessories and shoes see unlined and waterproof sartorial-effect nylons, B-chain jacquards, croc-embossed matte leather and hardware highlights, like the 1851.

COLOR

A foundation of monochromatic black and chalk white is complemented with neutral bone and dove gray. Color is introduced in rich autumnal shades of deep shiraz, sunburn orange and golden ambra across retro-inspired prints and bold block colors.

Kaleidoscope

Bally introduces its Autumn/Winter 2020 collection through the sensory art of performance, Kaleidoscope; an immersive installation enhancing the seasonal message through subtle choreography, combining movement, film and sound to explore different perspectives, through the ever-changing synthesis of natural elements. A tunnel in black and white graphic preludes the experience reflecting the collection’s signature motif. The installation awaits you: roles are reversed as guests traverse the runway, while a crowd moves in the opposite direction, curiously alluding to the importance of understanding our place in nature. A celebration of the beauty and power of water and our intrinsic relationship to the oceans, rain and ice, culminates in a storm before giving way to the cyclically calm that follows. The pace of the performance slows, allowing a time for renewal: the warmth of the sun and the balm of crystal clear water that gathers in mountain valleys, before running through rivers to the sea. Kaleidoscope underpins the values of Bally. Light filters in, illuminating standout silhouettes of models outfitted in the new collection, where craftsmanship, quality and advanced tailoring are designed to stand the test of time. A series of optical crystal prisms inspired by alpine glaciers focus attention and magnify detail in footwear and accessories. The installation is an opportunity to see things from a myriad of viewpoints; proposing a lifestyle that is sensitive and aware of its place in the world.
