Steffie Christiaens wowed us last season with her interpretation of a chaotic world through clothing by using an unexpected color palette and a truly researched inspiration.

This season, Steffie explores the trend of fabric mixing and layering. Winter is cold yet comfortable with Steffie Christiaens and takes on a romantic whirl with beautiful fabrics and volumes. Wool mixes elegantly with leather and fur.

Beige, black, taupe and chocolate browns are the color of this season. The runway show opens on quilted garments, most notably coats and pants. The coat are worn as dresses. Earth tones inspire an organic touch and Steffie is very coherent in her choice of fabrics. Even the detail on the heels is striking as they are wooden.

The pencil skirt is revisited and worn with knee-high suede boots and the blouses are romantic when they are paired with high waisted pants.

Prints are geometric and the appliqués can easily remind of Iris Vam Herpen work.
The volumes are dramatic as draping is usually accompanied by gold cinching waist-belts. Layering is also very present through this collection and the dress-over-pants trend is seen on many looks.
Bags are either very lady-like (I think here of the mini-totes) or more masculine (backpacks).
